The final image with the snow does real work. Felt like you were stacking and layering the whole time. The snow encapsulates that perfectly.

The repeating imagery of the merry-go-round, train tracks, roads and father catching ankles have left a perennial mark on me—the simplicity with which you chose to pen down your emotions is so wonderful and poignant simultaneously. Loved the ending epilogue with snow, it leaves a physical mark of grief on the reader, I almost felt you were writing your own story midway and had to read the endnote to confirm. Brilliant writing!
